It is also amongst the largest forts in India and accommodates several palaces within it. Built by Rao Jodha in 1460, the fort is known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards.
The museum in the Mehrangarh fort exhibits a selection of old royal palanquins, including the elaborate domed gilt Mahadol palanquin which was won in a battle from the Governor of Gujarat in 1730.
The museum also has the heritage of the Rathores in arms, costumes, paintings and decorated period rooms. From the top of the fort, one can see a panoramic view of the old city of Jodhpur that still has those blue houses after which Jodhpur is called as the Blue City.
Clock Tower and Sadar Bazaar
Clock Tower or Ghanta Ghar is an important and most popular places to see in Jodhpur. Located in Old City, next to Sardar Market, it is a tall colossal tower that was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh during his rule between 1880 and 1911.

Umaid Bhawan Palace

The Palace has 347 rooms and serves as the principal residence of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family.

Balsamand Lake
Some five kilometres from Jodhpur city, Balsamand Lake is one of the major attractions in Jodhpur. It is an artificially constructed lake that was earlier a water reservoir for the villagers of Mandore.
It is surrounded with verdant greenery that adds more to charm of the place. There is also a palace located near the lake which further adds to the beauty. The lake is surrounded by gardens that house trees like mango, papaya, pomegranate, guava and plum.

Udai Mandir
Known for its architectural beauty, Udai Mandir is amongst the most popular religious places to see in Jodhpur.
Built and carved with sandstone, the main temple stands on a high raised platform and is supported by 102 pillars. Inside the temple, there are beautiful wall paintings with 84 Yogasanas and the pictures of Nath Yogis made up with gold.
The temple has a Garbh Griha (sanctum sanctorum) and its upper portion is kept covered with cloth and is surrounded by gold pots. The gold polishing in Udai Mandir still has its original shine and quality.
